R's first "sentence"
Did I mention that R said a "sentence"?

*R walks around with a stuffed toy*
R: Daa saa ka ka.
Me: What did you say?
R: Daa saa ka ka.
Me: Oh! You said a sentence! Did you say “duck says quack quack”?
*R smiles, laughs, and runs off with the stuffed duck*

Excellent! And, outstanding ear to catch it. It's fascinating to think our children may be forming sentences long before we know it because their pronunciation is not yet developed!

We were so disappointed when Josh (now 7) stopped saying "nimma nims" and pronounced it correctly, M&Ms. It's ironic how we so strongly seek that progress while simultaneously mourning what it means; that they are growing up, everyday, right in front of us.

Yes, I very much miss hearing T say "datchi" whenever he used to see tractor. We have no idea why he called a tractor a "datchi" but I was a little sad the first time he said it correctly.

Thanks. R can be funny. He also has a strong will. He can be a handful if he's not getting his way! T was more mellow about things.

I remember one of T's friends who used to do that too. Thanks for the memory -- brought a big smile to my face.
